The deal between you and AleroOutdoors
Effective October 15, 2026. Pilot terms: they will be replaced, and you will be asked to agree again, before any payment goes through the site.
AleroOutdoors is run by AleroLabs (“we”, “us”). It is a place where landowners offer a day on their land and hunters, riders, anglers and campers (“visitors”) ask to book it. By creating an account you agree to these terms, our privacy notice and our cancellation policy.
1. We are the introduction, not a party to the trip
Every booking is an agreement between the landowner and the visitors on it. We provide the listing, the map, the waiver, the messages and the records. We do not own, inspect, control or insure any land, and we are not a guide, an outfitter, a hunting-lease agent or an insurer. We do not promise that any land is safe, that game is present, or that a trip will go ahead.
2. Landowners
- You confirm you own, lease or manage the land you list and have the right to let people on it for the activities you offer. We check ownership before a listing goes live, but the responsibility is yours.
- Land enrolled in a public walk-in or similar access program must not be listed for a fee where that program forbids it.
- Your boundary, no-go areas, rules and pins must be accurate. Visitors rely on them.
- You decide who comes on your land. You may decline or cancel any request, subject to the cancellation policy.
- You are responsible for the condition of your land and for any hazards you know about. Mark them.
- Charging for access can change how your state's recreational-use laws protect you. Talk to your own insurance agent and, if you want, an attorney. We do not give legal or insurance advice.
3. Visitors
- You must hold every license, stamp and permit the law requires for what you do, and follow all seasons, limits, firearm and vehicle rules. We may ask for your license number; we do not verify it with the state, and it is your job to be legal.
- Only the people on the booking go on the land. Everyone in the party keeps their own account, profile and signed waiver.
- Stay inside the boundary and out of no-go areas, follow the landowner's rules, close gates, and leave the land as you found it. The map and your position are aids; you are responsible for knowing where you are.
- You accept the risks of being outdoors on working farm and ranch land: terrain, weather, water, livestock, equipment, other hunters, firearms and vehicles. The landowner's waiver, which you sign for each trip, covers this in more detail.
4. Accounts
You must be 18 or older to hold an account. Keep your sign-in private and your profile truthful. During the pilot we approve accounts by hand and may close an account at any time, with or without a reason, for example after a landowner's report. You can close yours by emailing us.
5. Money
During the pilot no payment goes through the site. If a landowner and visitors agree a fee between themselves, that is their arrangement and not ours. When paid bookings start, separate terms will cover fees, payouts and refunds.
6. Content and conduct
You keep ownership of what you post (photos, descriptions, reviews, messages) and give us permission to show it on the site to run the service. Reviews must be honest and about a trip that happened. No harassment, no threats, no posting someone else's private details.
7. Our liability
The service is provided as it is, with no warranty. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for injury, death, property damage, lost game, lost income or any other loss arising from a trip, from the land, from another user's acts, or from the site being wrong or unavailable. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which during the pilot is zero.
You agree to cover us for claims brought by third parties that arise from your breach of these terms or your use of the land.
8. Disputes and law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Dakota. Talk to us first: most problems are sorted out by email. If that fails, claims go to the state or federal courts sitting in South Dakota.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. When the change matters, we will email account holders and ask you to agree again before you keep using the site.
